This is a remix of my original Apple Sour Cocktail. Although the original is delicious, I wanted to make the cocktail have more benefits. So in came the cucumber. Cucumbers are one of those vegetables that do not get fair billing. First of all cucumbers have amazing hydrating properties with water that is more nutritious than plain water. In addition cucumbers are good for your skin, nails, teeth and gums, joint health, gout and arthritis and hair growth. As if that’s not enough, cucumbers help to control diabetes, cholesterol and promote weight loss. So I’m sure you can see that drinking this cocktail will only benefit you.
Apple Sour Cocktail Two by Chef Joi
2 Granny Smith Apples
2 T Lemon Juice
1 T Agave Nectar
2 c Sparkling Water
Optional: Mint Leaves
Core the apples. Peel and remove the seeds from the cucumber. Place apples, cucumber, lemon juice and agave nectar in blender. Blend until smooth. Pour mixture in pitcher and add sparkling water. Stir gently. Either serve over ice or place in refrigerator to chill.
Option: Add mint leaves to give the cocktail a refreshing lift.
